A big THANK YOU to the kids of Ms. Lockard's 5th grade class at Walnut Grove Elementary School for all the wonderful drawings of the shelter pets this month!
In the month of April, 2022, a total of 69 dogs went through the shelter. No adoptable dogs were euthanized!!! Of the 11 total dogs euthanized (16%), the reasons were as follows:
- 3 owner requested/paid euthanasia for attacking/killing another pet
- 1 owner requested/paid euthanasia for biting a person
- 3 owner requested/paid euthanasia for elderly dog
- 1 owner requested/paid euthanasia for medical reasons
- 2 stray bite case
- 1 stray hit-by-car
